Back to Alstonville

Thursday morning we woke to the sound of rain.. rain.. and more rain! It had been raining all night, so our planned day at Movie World didn't look like it would eventuate!  As we were packing up our stuff to leave the hotel room Mars spoke to Customer Service in the hotel foyer about extending our tickets.  We were so glad, they extended our ticket date by a week so we could definitely go to MovieWorld when we come back through with the van.

We left our room and Mars collected the car and picked us up under cover.  On Tuesday evening we had left the windows open (to air out the pizza smell!) and as we hadn't used the car on Wednesday the rain had come in the windows. It was saturated!

As we headed South we called into a Caravan shop to pick up a jockey wheel.  The guys there told Mars to hurry up and go, as the rain that was coming was severe.  The overflow creeks on either side of the road were already gushing with water.  The rain was pretty constant as we drove and we were very thankful to arrive safely back in Alstonville before the worst of it came!

Mars hooked up the caravan and we were able to squish in next to Bertrand and Lucie so we could camp under cover again. So glad! There was another travelling family who had stopped for a few days - Justin & Carlee with their 2 boys Talan, Kydan and daughter Pipah. Chad was happy to have some older boys to kick the footy with him - which they did in the rain that arvo, as well as a few card games that evening.

We set up the camper then had to do some shopping, so I took Karli, Margaux and Pipah grocery shopping! Not much else to do when it's raining!
