Onto Maryborough

As we packed up in the morning, the boys spent some time at the skate park.  They love to watch others at the park and have to get their confidence up before they start whizzing around the jumps.  Mars packed up the camper.

We headed out of Beerwah and drove down the freeway for about half an hour and then saw a sign for Eumundi markets.  These had been highly recommended to us by a few people so we pulled into the town.  Apparently the markets are a major attraction and we spent quite some time finding parking for the car and the van, then walked a reasonable distance to the markets.

The markets were ENORMOUS.  When we got there it began to rain so we ducked under some cover to try and gauge where to start... Eventually the rain slowed down so we made our way through the market stalls. Lots of beautiful handmade products, from clothing to pottery to glassworks to woodworks. It was enjoyable but also busy.

After an hour or so we found some fresh produce stalls so we did some shopping there and slowly made our way back to our car.  Karli did some whispering to Mars and pulled him away to do some quick shopping.

Mars ran back to the car and picked us up from the roadside, as the rain had started again!

We continued driving to our destination of Maryborough, located about 30 minutes inland from Hervey Bay.  Our camping spot was located next to a small airport and adjacent to some soccer fields. After setting up the kids spent the afternoon playing soccer on the fields.

We were able to use the facilities there, so showering the kids had to be done before it went dark, as it was a bit of walk back to the van.

After a reasonable night sleep with one or two interruptions from the small aeroplanes we woke to another beautiful day!  Karli 'surprised' me with a birthday gift purchased from the markets.

We headed out to Hervey Bay WaterPark, with a quick stop at the shopping centre to pick up some essentials.

The WaterPark is free! It had lots of fountains and slides, suitable for all our kids! The weather was amazing and the kids thought it was fantastic. We bought some coffees and later some fish n chips for lunch.

The Park is located right beside the beach but the beach is not appealing at all... the grey sand ... the fluctuating tides meant that you have to walk out at least 50 metres to get your feet wet ... and the stingers ... We could understand why the WaterParks are provided for free.

Lunch... overlooking the beach.  Chad and Brenton spotted someone pulling worms on the beach to use for bait - and went over to investigate.

After lunch was more time spent in the park.  I managed to get Axel to sleep so the other kids just kept going and going!  But first Axel nicely did a 'teething nappy' and then proceeded to play with it as it oozed out the sides!!! Eeeeww!

We eventually managed to get the kids back in the car and head back to our camp at Maryborough.

At the soccer oval that evening was a fairly big game of soccer, which Mars went out to watch once the kids were in bed. Due to the mozzies being so bad it wasn't worth staying out for long!
