As we entered the large undercover area we noticed that a 4D Looney Tunes movie was on in the next 15 minutes. So we headed into the theatre with our 3D glasses looking super cool. The movie was a Road Runner episode - as we watched the chairs moved and jerked, as well as air blown into your neck. Towards the end there was actually water sprayed on your neck too! It was fantastic, especially at the beginning when the kids had their glasses on and were ducking the flying objects!
From there we made our way to another show - Hollywood Stunt Driver. Since our kids have never been to any kind of car show they were mesmerised by the squealing tyres and precision driving (as were we!). There was a bit of a movie being made using different actors from the crowd. They filmed the scenes prior to doing the stunts then put the different scenes together to make the movie at the end. It was well done.
As we left the Stunt Drive show we made our way to the Wild West Falls Adventure ride - where Brenton was just tall enough to take the ride! It was a good ride to gear up for the scarier ones!
We headed over to Warner Bros kids to try some of those rides for Rowan and Axel. First stop though was at the Road Runner RollerCoaster for the bigger kids. They loved it!
Followed by a ride on the merry-go-round for Rowan & Axel and some of the 'big kids'
Then we spent some time lining up to get the kids on the Junior Driving School roads. It was fun watching them try to remember to keep their foot on the accelerator AND steer.
Next up... the train ride!
While Chad and Axel waited patiently at the 'Bugstop'...
After these rides we headed over to the Superman Escape ride. An extreme speed ride, going from 0-100 in 2 seconds! Brenton was devastated that he was too short to go on the ride. Even watching from the ground I was so glad not to be on that ride!
After the Superman Escape ride Mars and the kids lined up for Batwing Spaceshot. Apparently it was quite mild compared to the Superman ride.
While they enjoyed the ride I went with Rowan and Axel and waited for the 3:30pm Main Street Entertainment. We found a spot on the kerb and waited patiently for the show to start. Mars found us shortly before the animated movie characters paraded down the street. It was fun to watch, although the kids probably had no idea who half of them were!
After the show Mars, Chad and Karli ran to the Green Lantern to try and avoid the queue. They got on quite quickly and had an awesome time! They jumped off the ride and ran over to the Superman ride again.
We then waited in line for the Justice League 3D ride. Complete with 3D glasses we hopped on our car which took us round the track and we shot as many 'alien' starfish as we could.
From there Mars took Chad and Karli back to the Green Lantern ride and I took Brenton, Rowan and Axel back to the Looney Tunes area. Brenton got to ride the car again, then I went with Rowan while Brenton 'watched' Axel. We made our way over to another driving ride where Brenton and Rowan drove round the track.
As we were about to head out of the Looney Tunes are we found a Tweety cage ride which Brenton was keen to try. He had a few turns on there as there was no one else on the ride!
At 5pm we headed out to find Mars, Chad and Karli. We'd had such a fun day, FULL ON but everyone had a blast!
We headed back to the car and shortly after we left most of the kids were asleep! Since it's not worth stopping once they're asleep we kept on driving to our next camp site, 90 minutes away in normal conditions. However, there was lots of roadworks followed by rain so we didn't arrive in Beerwah until about 8pm! We made our way to Subway for some dinner then drove to the nearby Showgrounds to camp for the night. Setting up in the dark being eaten by mozzies isn't our idea of fun but has to be done!
