Ben Lomond to Coles Bay

We left Old Mac's in Launceston and headed for Ben Lomond National Park. We stopped half way up the Mountain to unhitch the van then continued driving up.  We took Jacobs Ladder to the ski village.  We wandered through the deserted ski Village and then headed back down, stopping at the Lookouts, then later to hitch the van up.

We travelled on and stopped at the Pondering Frog café for our overnight camp. The kids enjoyed an icecream while we watched the bees at work in their hives (which had glass on the outsides).

The following morning we drove into Bicheno to sample the products of the Bakery there.  The Vanilla Slice was delicious! We headed out to Coles Bay which is just beautiful! The weather was amazing but still not warm enough to get us into the water.  Unfortunately the camera photos are pretty average so they don't show the amazing colours!

We watched an echidna make its way around the rocks - it wasn't fazed by us at all! 

From there we headed back to our camper and headed South, stopping at Triabunna for some groceries and then continuing onto Dunalley.  We camped behind the Dunalley Pub so went in for a meal.  The pub had a lot of posters and information up about the 2013 fires that swept through there, destroying the local school and numerous homes.
