St Columba Falls to Bay of Fires

We enjoyed an hour of relaxing in the sun at Scottsdale with the kids doing some reading / playing before we packed up.

The black car in the background is travelling on the highway!

From there we made our way up the windy hills to St Columba Falls.  We had lunch then went for a walk to see the Falls. It was an easy walk with lots of rainforest vegetation to admire - lots of Tall Ferns!

And a creek to spot Trout in!

St Columba Falls is one of the highest multi-tiered Waterfalls in Tasmania.  It was an awesome sight and one that you never get tired of watching. It never ceases to amaze me that the water just keeps flowing!

We left the Waterfalls and did some cheese tasting at Pyengana Dairy.  We continued driving on to Bay of Fires.  We were surprised to see how full the camping area at Cosy Corner in Bay of Fires was!  But it's something we'll have to get used to!

We found a suitable spot to camp and set up. We then walked down to the beach. The beach was Beautiful! White sand and red rocks - reminded us of Albany beaches. We climbed through the rocks to a sheltered little beach where Karli was the only one keen to brave the cold water for a quick dip!

The boys enjoyed the rock pools and finding crabs.  Axel enjoyed the freedom and racing to the water!

Yep - trust Brenton to pick the highest rock to climb!

We eventually managed to lure the kids back to camp with promises of a fire! The camp was great but had 'beautiful' black dirt which the kids LOVED to play in!
