Launceston

Sunday morning we headed off to Legana church where we enjoyed catching up with cousins and appreciated the welcoming nature of the Church members there.  We drove back to Launceston to catch up with the Buists again. After an enjoyable time there we went back to camp to get the two youngest down for a nap. Mars headed to Launceston church for a Thanksgiving sermon by Rev Bredenhof - which he really enjoyed.

In the evening we had a fire with the Ritchie's and naturally... marshmallows! The kids had planned to sleep over in tents - so Chad went in a tent with Oliver, Brenton slept in the rooftop tent with Jacob and Ezra, Karli slept in a tent with Cassie and Matilda.  Not sure how much sleep they got but they had a fun night!

Early Monday morning we headed into the City to have the car serviced.  After dropping the car off we went out for breakfast then walked to the Penny Royal.  We wandered through for a while then the kids did some panning for gold - which they just can't seem to get enough of!

From there we headed to the Cataract Gorge. We walked along the paths up the Gorge to the Swinging Bridge which took us over to The Basin - and the swimming pool.  Chad managed a quick dip in the freezing water and Brenton got half way in but it was too chilly to stay in for long!

We walked back to pick up the car then drove to City Park to look at the Japanese Macaque monkeys which live there in an enclosure. We easily could've spent a few hours watching them as they were really active!

We eventually headed back to camp at Old Mac's farm for the night.  Around 9:30 at night the goods train goes past, about 10metres behind our van! A novelty for the kids!
