The Twelve Apostles

After packing up the van we drove into town for a quick shop and to sort out some camera issues. Mars did a couple of laps of the town while I got those sorted (always tricky to find parking for a car AND van!).  Unfortunately, some of the camera issues weren't resolved so our photos of the 12 Apostles aren't very clear.

From there we got onto the Great Ocean Road again from where we left off on Sunday, starting at Loch Ard Gorge and the Razorback. The colours of the ocean in contrast to the limestone were quite amazing.

Next stop was the 12 Apostles. We made our way through the hordes of tourists (and this was a 'quiet day' apparently!) to the walkway that goes under the road. After a short walk we came to the viewing platforms and took a few photos and tried to enjoy the scene amidst the squish of overseas tourists!  There are only 8 'Apostles' left now.

From there we walked to watch the helicopters take off and land, taking countless tourists on a 15 minute joyride to see the limestone stacks from the air.  I think the kids probably had more enjoyment out of that than the 12 Apostles!

We eventually got back to the car and our drive to Johanna Beach in the Great Otway National Park took us through farming land then rainforest and into bush! The landscape changes so dramatically!
